Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Toren van Babel by Jan van Herwijnen for EUR 587.50. This price was achieved in the auction PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS at Christies in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 700.00 – 900.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Herwijnen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Baboe in June 2008 with an auction result of EUR 27,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Toren van Babel von Jan van Herwijnen für EUR 587,50 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS bei Christies in Amsterdam erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 700,00 – 900,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van Herwijnen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Baboe im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 27.400,00.
