It achieved a price of EUR 2,250.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50 %. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Herwijnen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Baboe in June 2008 with an auction result of EUR 27,400.00.

Die Arbeit A still life with white and pink flowers in a blue vase von Jan van Herwijnen wurde im September 2009 in der Auktion Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 2.250,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50 %. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van Herwijnen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Baboe im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 27.400,00.
