Auction result misses estimated price range

In September 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work A View Of A The Oosterhaven, Groningen by Jan van der Zee for EUR 1,375.00. This price was achieved in the auction Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours at Sothebys in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van der Zee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (West 127th Street, Harlem), 1932 in December 2011 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 40,468.67).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Im September 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A View Of A The Oosterhaven, Groningen von Jan van der Zee für EUR 1.375,00 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours bei Sothebys in Amsterdam erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van der Zee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (West 127th Street, Harlem), 1932 im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 40.468,67).
