In April 2010 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters and 19th Century Art, which included the work Saint Luke the Evangelist by Jan van Bijlert. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 43,000.00 43% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan van Bijlert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a young boy, full-length, in an embroidered yellow dress and white lace collar and cuffs, a cane in his left hand, proferring a biscuit to a dog begging on a table, before a red curtain in January 2007 with an auction result of GBP 131,200.00 (€ 197,950.70).

Im April 2010 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Saint Luke the Evangelist von Jan van Bijlert zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 43.000,00 und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan van Bijlert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a young boy, full-length, in an embroidered yellow dress and white lace collar and cuffs, a cane in his left hand, proferring a biscuit to a dog begging on a table, before a red curtain im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 131.200,00 (€ 197.950,70).
