Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait Of A Gentleman Wearing A Purple Doublet And A White Shirt by Jan van Bijlert for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,677.94). This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Bijlert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a young boy, full-length, in an embroidered yellow dress and white lace collar and cuffs, a cane in his left hand, proferring a biscuit to a dog begging on a table, before a red curtain in January 2007 with an auction result of GBP 131,200.00 (€ 197,950.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman Wearing A Purple Doublet And A White Shirt von Jan van Bijlert für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.677,94) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Masters bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van Bijlert erzielen.
