In November 2007 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Master Pictures and Drawings, which included the work Tulips, roses, carnations, lilies and other flowers in a sculpted vase depicting Venus and Cupid, strawberries in a cabage leaf, other berries and a snail, all on a stone ledge; and Oranges, a watermelon, plums, peaches, a pear, a pomegranate, pepper by Jan Mortel. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 156,250.00 30% above the upper estimate. Other works by Jan Mortel have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 120,000.00 (€ 174,173.28) in December 2005 for the work Peaches, plums, apricots, grapes, pears, blackberries, sheafs of corn, chestnuts, walnuts, medlars, cherries and a pomegranate with a snail, a butterfly, a grasshopper and a caterpillar by a plinth.

Im November 2007 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Master Pictures and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tulips, roses, carnations, lilies and other flowers in a sculpted vase depicting Venus and Cupid, strawberries in a cabage leaf, other berries and a snail, all on a stone ledge; and Oranges, a watermelon, plums, peaches, a pear, a pomegranate, pepper von Jan Mortel zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 156.250,00 und damit 30% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von Jan Mortel haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von GBP 120.000,00 (€ 174.173,28) im Dezember 2005 für die Arbeit Peaches, plums, apricots, grapes, pears, blackberries, sheafs of corn, chestnuts, walnuts, medlars, cherries and a pomegranate with a snail, a butterfly, a grasshopper and a caterpillar by a plinth beobachtet.
