Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An orange, roses, partially peeled lemon, strawberries in a Wanli 'kraak' porcelain plate with butterflies on a stone ledge, before a sculpted urn, a statue of Fortuna in a garden beyond by Jan Mortel was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings auction at Christies in London in April 2015. The price achieved of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 13,732.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Mortel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Peaches, plums, apricots, grapes, pears, blackberries, sheafs of corn, chestnuts, walnuts, medlars, cherries and a pomegranate with a snail, a butterfly, a grasshopper and a caterpillar by a plinth in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 120,000.00 (€ 174,173.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit An orange, roses, partially peeled lemon, strawberries in a Wanli 'kraak' porcelain plate with butterflies on a stone ledge, before a sculpted urn, a statue of Fortuna in a garden beyond von Jan Mortel wurde im April 2015 in der Auktion Old Master & British Paintings bei Christies in London versteigert. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Peaches, plums, apricots, grapes, pears, blackberries, sheafs of corn, chestnuts, walnuts, medlars, cherries and a pomegranate with a snail, a butterfly, a grasshopper and a caterpillar by a plinth im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 120.000,00 (€ 174.173,28).
