Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of GBP 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 38,900.00 (€ 49,592.00). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Mortel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Peaches, plums, apricots, grapes, pears, blackberries, sheafs of corn, chestnuts, walnuts, medlars, cherries and a pomegranate with a snail, a butterfly, a grasshopper and a caterpillar by a plinth, which sold at auction in December 2005 for GBP 120,000.00 (€ 174,173.28).

Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 35.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 38.900,00 (€ 49.592,00) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Mortel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Peaches, plums, apricots, grapes, pears, blackberries, sheafs of corn, chestnuts, walnuts, medlars, cherries and a pomegranate with a snail, a butterfly, a grasshopper and a caterpillar by a plinth beobachtet, die im Dezember 2005 für GBP 120.000,00 (€ 174.173,28) versteigert wurde.
