Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2002 Christies in London held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES, which included the work Apricots, peaches, plums, a pomegranate, a watermelon, an orange, a pear and corn in a basket, with cherries, chestnuts, snails, a bee, a squirrel and a dragonfly by Jan Mortel. The price achieved of GBP 35,850.00 (€ 55,031.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Mortel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Peaches, plums, apricots, grapes, pears, blackberries, sheafs of corn, chestnuts, walnuts, medlars, cherries and a pomegranate with a snail, a butterfly, a grasshopper and a caterpillar by a plinth, which sold at auction in December 2005 for GBP 120,000.00 (€ 174,173.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Apricots, peaches, plums, a pomegranate, a watermelon, an orange, a pear and corn in a basket, with cherries, chestnuts, snails, a bee, a squirrel and a dragonfly von Jan Mortel zur Versteigerung kam.
