Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2000 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work The flowermarket, Amsterdam, with the Westertoren towering by Jan Knikker Jun.. The price achieved of NLG 1,755.30 (€ 746.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as NLG 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Knikker Jun. - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work By the waterside, which sold at auction in June 2002 for EUR 1,912.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2000 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The flowermarket, Amsterdam, with the Westertoren towering von Jan Knikker Jun. zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von NLG 1.755,30 (€ 746,75) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit NLG 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Knikker Jun. mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit By the waterside beobachtet, die im Juni 2002 für EUR 1.912,00 versteigert wurde.
