Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Family Visited By A Pilgrim In An Interior by Jan Josef Horemans the Elder was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,833.62). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Josef Horemans the Elder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Four Seasons in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 46,160.95).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Family Visited By A Pilgrim In An Interior von Jan Josef Horemans the Elder im September 2019 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.833,62) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Josef Horemans the Elder erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Four Seasons im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 46.160,95).
