In January 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art, which included the work The Four Seasons by Jan Josef Horemans the Elder. The result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 46,160.95) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Four Seasons is the most expensive artwork by Jan Josef Horemans the Elder that we have observed at auctions so far.
