In the Old Masters auction, the work An interior with a woman at her spinning wheel, a child with a rattle, and other figures sold for USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,877.75) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Josef Horemans the Elder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Four Seasons, which sold at auction in January 2007 for USD 60,000.00 (€ 46,160.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan Josef Horemans the Elder erzielte im Oktober 2017 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters wurde die Arbeit An interior with a woman at her spinning wheel, a child with a rattle, and other figures für USD 15.000,00 (€ 12.877,75) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Josef Horemans the Elder mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Four Seasons beobachtet, die im Januar 2007 für USD 60.000,00 (€ 46.160,95) versteigert wurde.
