Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2018 Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work A Church Along A Canal, Holland; And A Busy Town Square, Holland by Jan Hendrik Verheijen. The price achieved of USD 40,000.00 (€ 33,129.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 35,000.00 – 45,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Hendrik Verheijen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dutch a Lively Townscene, Utrecht , which sold at auction in June 2011 for EUR 96,750.00.
