Admittedly, works by Jan Steen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Prayer Before The Meal in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 5,641,250.00 (€ 6,957,227.93).

Die Arbeit The Doctor'S Visit von Jan Steen kam im Juli 2017 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 812.750,00 (€ 906.904,19) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Steen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Prayer Before The Meal im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.641.250,00 (€ 6.957.227,93).
