Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Peasants In A Landscape by Jan Steen was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2018. It changed hands for a price of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 41,778.33) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Steen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Prayer Before The Meal in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 5,641,250.00 (€ 6,957,227.93).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Peasants In A Landscape von Jan Steen kam im Dezember 2018 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 41.778,33) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Steen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Prayer Before The Meal im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.641.250,00 (€ 6.957.227,93).
