In the Old Masters Day Sale auction, the work A mountainous river landscape with an inn on the outskirts of a town in the foreground sold for GBP 32,760.00 (€ 38,417.89) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jan Griffier the Elder have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A winter landscape with figures ice skating, a village and castle beyond in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 252,000.00 (€ 295,522.25).
