Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Peonies, roses, tulips, an iris and other flowers in an alabaster vase on a stone ledge with fruit by Jan Frans van Dael was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Christies in New York in June 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 350,000.00 – 550,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 365,000.00 (€ 327,236.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Jan Frans van Dael have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May last year the work Nature Morte Aux Bouquets Dans Un Niche was auctioned for EUR 529,200.00.
