Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Skull with Frog by Jan Fabre for USD 62,500.00 (€ 55,669.37). This price was achieved in the auction First Open | Online at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Jan Fabre have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Tree of Life (Sacer oro rosso) in April last year with an auction result of EUR 315,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Skull with Frog von Jan Fabre für USD 62.500,00 (€ 55.669,37) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion First Open | Online bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Fabre auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Tree of Life (Sacer oro rosso) im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 315.000,00.
