Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Hommage A Jean-Henri Fabre by Jan Fabre. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,649.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan Fabre have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Tree of Life (Sacer oro rosso) in April last year with an auction result of EUR 315,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hommage A Jean-Henri Fabre von Jan Fabre zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 36.649,97) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Fabre auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Tree of Life (Sacer oro rosso) im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 315.000,00.
