Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2009 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Art, which included the work A cowherd watering his cattle by Jan Evert Morel. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 2,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Evert Morel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grapes, pomegranates, peaches, cherries, and a melon, with carnations, and other flowers on a stone ledge in a landscape in June 2004 with an auction result of USD 31,070.00 (€ 25,511.13).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Grapes, pomegranates, peaches, cherries, and a melon, with carnations, and other flowers on a stone ledge in a landscape im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 31.070,00 (€ 25.511,13).
