Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Penitent Magdalene by Jan de Braij was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2018. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 40,231.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jan de Braij have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Violin Player Accompanying Two Young Singers in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 125,000.00 (€ 177,208.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Penitent Magdalene von Jan de Braij kam im Januar 2018 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 40.231,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan de Braij auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Violin Player Accompanying Two Young Singers im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 125.000,00 (€ 177.208,02).
