Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jan de Braij could be acquired at Bukowski in Stockholm in June 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Spring Sale auction, the work Mercury and Aglauros at the door of Herse's chamber changed hands for SEK 200,000.00 (€ 19,716.41) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of SEK 300,000.00 – 350,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jan de Braij have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Violin Player Accompanying Two Young Singers in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 125,000.00 (€ 177,208.02).
