In February 2008 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Topographical Observations: Picture your world, which included the work Carriages outside the National Gallery on Trafalgar Square, London by Jan Cossaar. The result of EUR 2,500.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Jan Cossaar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sneeuwpret na schooltijd - Playing in the snow after school in September 2000 with an auction result of NLG 52,659.00 (€ 24,270.69).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Februar 2008 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Topographical Observations: Picture your world durch, in der auch die Arbeit Carriages outside the National Gallery on Trafalgar Square, London von Jan Cossaar zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 2.500,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Cossaar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sneeuwpret na schooltijd - Playing in the snow after school im September 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 52.659,00 (€ 24.270,69).
