Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work On The Thames, London by Jan Cossaar was auctioned at Sothebys in Amsterdam in October 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 2,375.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Cossaar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sneeuwpret na schooltijd - Playing in the snow after school in September 2000 with an auction result of NLG 52,659.00 (€ 24,270.69).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit On The Thames, London von Jan Cossaar im Oktober 2007 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 2.375,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Cossaar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sneeuwpret na schooltijd - Playing in the snow after school im September 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 52.659,00 (€ 24.270,69).
