The price achieved of GBP 1,990,000.00 (€ 2,217,036.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,800,000.00 – 2,500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Breughel I - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Garden Of Eden With The Fall Of Man, which sold at auction in July 2014 for GBP 6,802,500.00 (€ 8,580,091.30).
