Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work A lavish still life of many flowers in a terracotta vase resting on a wooden ledge, flanked by a clump of cyclamen and scattered diamonds and sapphires by Jan Breughel I. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500,000.00 – 3,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,677,000.00 (€ 3,139,337.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Breughel I - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Garden Of Eden With The Fall Of Man, which sold at auction in July 2014 for GBP 6,802,500.00 (€ 8,580,091.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A lavish still life of many flowers in a terracotta vase resting on a wooden ledge, flanked by a clump of cyclamen and scattered diamonds and sapphires von Jan Breughel I zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500.000,00 – 3.500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.677.000,00 (€ 3.139.337,58) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Breughel I mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Garden Of Eden With The Fall Of Man beobachtet, die im Juli 2014 für GBP 6.802.500,00 (€ 8.580.091,30) versteigert wurde.
