Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 2,890,000.00 (€ 3,240,325.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500,000.00 – 3,500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Breughel I - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Garden Of Eden With The Fall Of Man, which sold at auction in July 2014 for GBP 6,802,500.00 (€ 8,580,091.30).
