Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work An Italianate wooded landscape with travellers by Jan Both was sold in the Old Masters Day Sale auction at Christies in London in December 2018. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 93,750.00 (€ 104,445.81), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Both achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Italianate evening landscape with a muleteer and goatherds on a wooded path, a river and mountains beyond in July 2000 with an auction result of GBP 1,433,750.00 (€ 2,318,354.87).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Italianate evening landscape with a muleteer and goatherds on a wooded path, a river and mountains beyond im Juli 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.433.750,00 (€ 2.318.354,87).
