Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2024 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters, which included the work An Italianate landscape with huntsmen and villagers on a path and shepherds with their herd in the background by Jan Both. The price achieved of USD 378,000.00 (€ 330,361.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jan Both have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Italianate evening landscape with a muleteer and goatherds on a wooded path, a river and mountains beyond in July 2000 with an auction result of GBP 1,433,750.00 (€ 2,318,354.87).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 378.000,00 (€ 330.361,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden.
