Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Jan Boon Jr. by Jan Boon was sold in the Pictures,Watercolours and Drawings auction at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 1,080.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan Boon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Magnolias in a ginger pot in June 2000 with an auction result of NLG 19,893.40 (€ 8,488.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Jan Boon Jr. von Jan Boon wurde im Januar 2007 in der Auktion Pictures,Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 1.080,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Boon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Magnolias in a ginger pot im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 19.893,40 (€ 8.488,82).
