This artwork by Jan Anthonisz. van Ravesteyn achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2007. In the Old Master Paintings from the Collection of Jacques Goudstikker auction, the work Portrait of an officer, three-quarter-length, in armour with a white sash and molensteenkraag, standing beside a draped table with gloves and a helmet sold for EUR 84,250.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jan Anthonisz. van Ravesteyn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in a black coat and lace collar; and Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a black dress with gold trim and a lace collar and headdress in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 712,000.00 (€ 521,229.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan Anthonisz. van Ravesteyn erzielte im November 2007 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings from the Collection of Jacques Goudstikker wurde die Arbeit Portrait of an officer, three-quarter-length, in armour with a white sash and molensteenkraag, standing beside a draped table with gloves and a helmet für EUR 84.250,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Anthonisz. van Ravesteyn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in a black coat and lace collar; and Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a black dress with gold trim and a lace collar and headdress im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 712.000,00 (€ 521.229,87).
