Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Man In A White Ruff by Jan Anthonisz. van Ravesteyn was sold in the Old Masters Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2017. It changed hands for a price of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,250.68) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Anthonisz. van Ravesteyn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in a black coat and lace collar; and Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a black dress with gold trim and a lace collar and headdress in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 712,000.00 (€ 521,229.87).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in a black coat and lace collar; and Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a black dress with gold trim and a lace collar and headdress im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 712.000,00 (€ 521.229,87).
