Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jamil Naqsh achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November last year. In the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Portrait of Ali Imam sold for GBP 19,125.00 (€ 22,161.51) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jamil Naqsh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Reclining Nude) in September 2010 with an auction result of USD 182,500.00 (€ 134,181.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jamil Naqsh erzielte im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Portrait of Ali Imam für GBP 19.125,00 (€ 22.161,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jamil Naqsh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Reclining Nude) im September 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 182.500,00 (€ 134.181,31).
