Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Conrail C40-8, #6061, Oak Island, NJ by James Welling was sold in the Photographs Now The Collector's Edition auction at Bonhams in London in July this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,024.00 (€ 929.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Welling achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 04101403 in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,835.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Conrail C40-8, #6061, Oak Island, NJ von James Welling wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion Photographs Now The Collector's Edition bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.024,00 (€ 929,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Welling erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 04101403 im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.835,55).
