Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 001+7+A by James Welling was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in New York in April this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 5,715.00 (€ 5,176.63) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by James Welling have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 04101403 in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,835.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 001+7+A von James Welling wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 5.715,00 (€ 5.176,63) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Welling auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 04101403 im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.835,55).
