This artwork by James Welling achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in October 2021. In the Photographs auction, the work #14 (from the New Abstractions series), 2000 sold for USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,279.61) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Welling - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 04101403, which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,835.55).

Dieses Kunstwerk von James Welling erzielte im Oktober 2021 bei Christies einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit #14 (from the New Abstractions series), 2000 für USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.279,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von James Welling mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 04101403 beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.835,55) versteigert wurde.
