In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH ART ON PAPER, which included the work A quiet grey day by James Thomas Watts. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,107.00 (€ 4,464.93). Other works by James Thomas Watts have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 4,935.00 (€ 8,067.43) in March 2002 for the work A wooded landscape in winter.
