Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cattle watering, near Beddgelert by James Peel was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 822.50 (€ 1,344.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Peel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View near Walton on the Ribble, Lancashire in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 20,315.00 (€ 31,422.70).
