Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master and 19th Century European Art, which included the work At The Ford by James Peel. The price achieved of USD 5,938.00 (€ 4,001.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by James Peel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View near Walton on the Ribble, Lancashire in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 20,315.00 (€ 31,422.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit At The Ford von James Peel zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.938,00 (€ 4.001,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Peel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View near Walton on the Ribble, Lancashire im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.315,00 (€ 31.422,70).
