This artwork by James Peale achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2005. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Landscape with Waterfall sold for USD 26,400.00 (€ 21,894.18) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Peale achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vegetables: Still Life in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 785,000.00 (€ 743,230.45).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Peale erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vegetables: Still Life im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 785.000,00 (€ 743.230,45).
