Auction result well in line with expectations
In January this year Christies in New York held the auction From Peale to Peto: American Masters from the Pollack Collection, which included the work Mary Jane Simes and her Brother Edgar C. Simes by James Peale. The price achieved of USD 100,800.00 (€ 92,834.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by James Peale have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vegetables: Still Life in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 785,000.00 (€ 743,230.45).

Im Januar diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion From Peale to Peto: American Masters from the Pollack Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mary Jane Simes and her Brother Edgar C. Simes von James Peale zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 100.800,00 (€ 92.834,78) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Peale auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vegetables: Still Life im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 785.000,00 (€ 743.230,45).
