Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Still Life–Quinces, Apples, Grapes, &C. by James Peale for USD 118,750.00 (€ 112,261.30). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by James Peale have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vegetables: Still Life in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 785,000.00 (€ 743,230.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Still Life–Quinces, Apples, Grapes, &C. von James Peale für USD 118.750,00 (€ 112.261,30) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Peale auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vegetables: Still Life im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 785.000,00 (€ 743.230,45).
