The work Portrait Of William 6Th Baron Craven (1738-1791) by James Northcote was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2009. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 7,750.00 (€ 8,655.52). Admittedly, works by James Northcote have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of Admiral William Waldegrave, 1St Baron Radstock (1753-1825) in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 46,100.00 (€ 64,551.93).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Die Arbeit Portrait Of William 6Th Baron Craven (1738-1791) von James Northcote kam im Oktober 2009 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 7.750,00 (€ 8.655,52) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Northcote auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of Admiral William Waldegrave, 1St Baron Radstock (1753-1825) im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 46.100,00 (€ 64.551,93).
