Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work A Young Woman And Girl Offering Charity To A Kneeling Beggar Boy With A Monkey On His Shoulder by James Northcote. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,114.84). Admittedly, works by James Northcote have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of Admiral William Waldegrave, 1St Baron Radstock (1753-1825) in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 46,100.00 (€ 64,551.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Young Woman And Girl Offering Charity To A Kneeling Beggar Boy With A Monkey On His Shoulder von James Northcote zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 10.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 10.080,00 (€ 11.114,84) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Northcote auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of Admiral William Waldegrave, 1St Baron Radstock (1753-1825) im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 46.100,00 (€ 64.551,93).
