The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,145.81), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by James Miller have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of Dean'S Yard, Westminster, London in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,103.61).

Die Arbeit A house situated on the banks of the Thames, near Hammersmith, with figures in the garden von James Miller wurde im September 2000 in der Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.880,00 (€ 3.145,81) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Miller auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View of Dean'S Yard, Westminster, London im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.600,00 (€ 14.103,61).
