Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The violin player; and Study of a girl, verso by James McBey was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2009. The price achieved of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,523.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by James McBey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Dacie in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,566.56).

Die Arbeit The violin player; and Study of a girl, verso von James McBey kam im Februar 2009 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.125,00 (€ 3.523,34) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James McBey auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Dacie im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 27.566,56).
