Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2016 a collector was able to acquire this work without title by James M. Guy for USD 1,750.00 (€ 1,586.29). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James M. Guy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Capital Minus Labor in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 35,000.00 (€ 30,885.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2016 konnte ein Sammler diese Arbeit ohne Titel von James M. Guy für USD 1.750,00 (€ 1.586,29) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James M. Guy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Capital Minus Labor im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 30.885,99).
