A top price for James M. Guy - as previously expected
The work Capital Minus Labor by James M. Guy was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 35,000.00 (€ 30,885.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Capital Minus Labor is the most expensive artwork by James M. Guy that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit Capital Minus Labor von James M. Guy kam im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 30.885,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Capital Minus Labor das teuerste Kunstwerk von James M. Guy, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
