Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by James M. Guy could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in June 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, this work without title changed hands for USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,625.82) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by James M. Guy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Capital Minus Labor in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 35,000.00 (€ 30,885.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von James M. Guy konnte im Juni 2016 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.625,82) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James M. Guy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Capital Minus Labor im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 30.885,99).
